News & Events 2018/19
23rd July 2019
So another academic year comes to a close and we say 'goodbye for now' to the wonderful group of children heading for school. This year has been special for us as we moved into our new building and re-branded to become Hanborough Meadows Pre-School. All this required an enormous amount of hard work from the Staff and Committee for several years. The children have loved the new building and settled in so quickly thanks to their resilience and preparation made by Staff.
This year we have 12 children starting school and we wish them all the best of luck. We had a lovely celebration to mark the occasion including games and an afternoon tea and the children received some very special gifts. We will miss them all but in turn welcome the children joining us in September. See you on 3rd September 2019!
13th July 2019
We were lucky again with the weather when, on Saturday 13th July, we opened our doors to welcome many of our Pre-School children, their family's and the wider community to join us for our summer Open-Day. It was a great chance for us to fundraise as well as the children to have fun.... and eat lots of cakes and hot-dogs. We had teddy, sweet and grown-up tombolas, fairground games, dreamcatcher making and Tamsin also ran some woodwork sessions for the children. It was great to see so many come and support us. Many thanks to all who came to make the day such a success.
8th July 2019
Our Pre-School 'family' came together for another annual Sports Day on the village playing field. Children had an amazing time working in teams to play the lovely games that Staff created. We had a Pre-School vs Grown-Up's tug-of-war! Of course the children won.
There were some welcomed refreshments once all the games were finished (fruit and ice-lollies) and each child received a medal and certificate to celebrate their great effort. Children were so proud that so many of their grown-up's could join them and everyone had a wonderful time!

19th June 2019
Some of the children were Hanborough Meadows Pre-school were lucky enough to visit the Elderberries (Hanborough and District Day Centre for over 65's). The children had a great time sharing stories, drawing and singing. Thanks for having us Elderberries, we hope we can come again soon!

Today the children were so excited to finally start at their new Pre-school!
The sun was shining on Hanborough Meadows Pre-School as Staff welcomed the children and they began exploring their wonderful new setting. Kelly and the team have worked so hard to create exciting new activities for the children to enjoy. The outdoor space was looking glorious with the outdoor resources now installed.
23rd February 2019
After many weeks and months of hard work from our staff, our committee and indeed Cala Homes, we were so excited to finally show our children, families and funders what we have achieved and revealed our new logo and new building! We had a really special day and with many thanks to Cala Homes we buried a time-capsule to capture the moment and mark the occasion. Our Chairperson Megan Sayers gave a heart felt speech and the founder of Long Hanborough Playgroup, Sue Gibson cut the ribbon to officially open our new setting. Thanks to all the families and special guests that attended our special day. For a full list of all our donors who helped to make this happen click here!
